Animal Extinction by Ang Li Shan

ANIMAL EXTINCTION

Extinction is the disappearance of an entire species, brought about by a natural or unnatural cause. Some species die because newer species are more successful at competing for food, changes in the planet or of natural disasters. Humans, the main cause, hunt animals for food, clothings and for fun, destroying their habitats and leaving them no place to live. Captured animals are put in circuses and forced to perform for entertainment, depriving them of their freedom. Agencies, such as Green Peace and Worldwild Life Fund persuade people to stop keeping exotic animals as pets and eating endangered animals. Animal-loving people start raising campaigns to save animals. We can play our part. Remind others to avoid eating animal ‘delicacies’. Donate to the SPCA and help abandoned or abused animals. If someone you know intends to get a pet, remind them to be prepared for the responsibilities. Play a part now!
